The Enlightened SAT Warrior: Acing the SAT
Oct 24th, 2007 by Academics Plus Tutoring
Our goal is to help as many students as possible ace the SAT without the stress and strain so commonly experienced by SAT prep students. Today we introduce you to the concept behind our SAT Warrior Program and then in a series of blogs that follow, we offer you free hints and tips for the SAT preparation process taken directly from our SAT workbook, How To Ace the SAT Without Losing Your Cool, by Michele LoBosco and Jacqueline J. LoBosco, Ph.D..
You might be wondering why our program is called the Enlightened Warrior Program. The reason is simple: we believe that to ace the SAT, it is important to obtain the knowledge, wisdom and insight that enlightened individuals possess and to assume the mental perseverance, discipline and stamina typically associated with a warrior. At our center, we define “Enlightened SAT warriors” as students who welcome the challenge of the SAT, who are resourceful, hardworking, and self-motivated and focus on accomplishing their goals without being sidetracked by self-doubt.
To be an Enlightened SAT Warrior, you must acquire the right knowledge. What many don’t realize though is that there are different types of knowledge that will help you achieve your SAT goals.
The three types of knowledge we believe are essential to ace the SAT are:
Ø Knowledge about yourself
Ø Knowledge about your opponent (in this case, the SAT)
Ø Knowledge about your strategies
In the coming days, we will cover all three types of knowledge and will help you garner information and insights that will set you apart from the typical student preparing for the SAT. Thank you for reading our brief introduction to the SAT Warrior Program today. Please check back again for our SAT hints and strategies to help you get a handle on the SAT preparation process. Good luck warriors!
