The 10 days of Christmas break… day 10!

On the tenth day of Christmas break, my tutor gave to me, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words, 10 SAT vocabulary words and 10 SAT vocabulary words…
For anyone who is signing on to our blog for the first time today, let me give you a little background on what we are doing. For each of the 10 days of winter break (excluding weekends), we will post 10 new SAT vocabulary words for you to review. We encourage you to study all the words over the holiday and add 100 SAT words to your vocabulary. Look back at the previous blogs for the introduction to this series and lists of words and check back tomorrow for a new set of words.
Here is the 10th and final set of words:
Ø Fulsome (adj.): offensively flattering or insincere
Ø Belittle (v.): to disparage; to cause to seem less than
Ø Zeitgeist (n.): the intellectual and moral tendencies that characterize any age or epoch; the spirit of the time
Ø Belie (v.): to misrepresent; to give false representation
Ø Winsome (adj.): attractive; charming
Ø Abase (v.): to lower in position, estimation, or the like; degrade
Ø Emigrate (v.): to go from one country, state, or region for the purpose of settling or residing in another
Ø Embezzle (v.): to misappropriate secretly; to fraudulently take (money) for own use
Ø Bellicose (adj.): warlike; having or showing a ready disposition to fight
Ø Harbinger (n.): a sign of things to come; a person or indication of someone or something to come
